About North Johnson City Baptist Church

North Johnson City Baptist Church is a Christ-centered congregation in Johnson City, Tennessee, serving the Tri-Cities region since our incorporation in 1963. Our church exists to equip the saints for a life rooted in Christ through sound biblical teaching, expository preaching, and reverent congregational worship each Lord's Day.

We are a fellowship of believers from across the greater Johnson City area who gather to worship God in spirit and truth, grow in the knowledge of His Word, and encourage one another in the faith. Visitors are always welcome - whether you are seeking a church home, exploring the Christian faith, or looking for a community grounded in historic biblical truth. We meet at 305 Ferndale Road, directly across from Towne Acres Elementary School, just off North Roan Street and I-26.

NJCBC is led by Pastor Rick Powell, who has served the congregation since 2005 and was installed as Lead Pastor on Reformation Day 2010. We hold to the historic Baptist confessions of the faith, including the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689, and remain committed to faithful expository preaching and the ordinary means of grace as we seek to make Christ known in our community.
